About Sumi’s Cakery
Located at 1931 Smallman St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, Sumi’s Cakery operates as an asian bakery serving Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 47 reviews, which is a strong result for an asian bakery in Pittsburgh and suggests consistent service.
Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Best bakery in the Pittsburgh! The bingsu was perfectly sweet, and the fruit was incredibly fresh and delicious. We drove five hours for this trip, and honestly, I would absolutely make the drive again just to come here!!!!!!

A small bakery offering things such as slices of specialty cakes, red bean filled buns and a small assortment of sandwiches. I had the egg sandwich today which was FULL. They did not hold back on stuffing that sandwich. Only half of the sandwich is pictured. Service was kind and efficient, no complaints.

To be honest, I haven’t tried their pastries because the lunch bentos are *very* delicious. Banchan (side dishes) do change, all are great. I think they only do bulgogi nowadays but they used to have chicken and other entries as well. The owners are Korean uncles and aunties who are super sweet! Great place for a balance lunch.

Best place to get Asian bakers goods! The cream Soboro bread is really good! Didn’t try their mango/ red bean shaved ice but I heard they’re the only place in Pittsburgh to serve it! Will come again for a not too sweet treat. Super friendly owners too!
